・Task

a. ...didn't hear?
Sorry, I missed that.
Sorry, I didn't catch that.
Could you just say that again?
Could you just go over that again?

b. ...didn't understand?
Sorry, I'm not (quite) with you.
Sorry, I don't (quite) follow you.
Sorry, I don't (quite) see what you mean.
Could you just explain what you mean?
Could you just be (a bit) more specific?
Could you just say (a bit) more about that?

c. ...understood differently?
Isn't it 12%?
Don't you mean 12%?
Shouldn't that be 12%?
I thought you said 12%?

We can understand that how much a listener doesn't understand using these words.

・Questions
1. First, We were explained us about the mid-term test. After that, we listened the phone call and answerd the questions in the text book, p18. We knew what made us difficult that listening English. Then, in group work, we discuss what is the most difficult to catch their English, Native Speakers, Non Native Speakers, Fast talking people, and using Strong accents people. We can exchange each other's experiences. Lastlly, we learned the differnce of two phrases: "I didn't understand ."and "I didn't hear", p22.

2.Yes. I did. In listening section, it was too fast for me to catch what the CD said. But, you took us time to listen again and again, it was very helpful for me to understand. And, It was interesting to talk with my classmate about the difficulities of English accent among Native Speakers, Non Native Speakers, Fast talking people, and using Strong accents people. There are many classmates who have been study abroad, so their narrative was useful for me.

3.Listening activity was little difficult, I think that speakers talks very fast for me and little different accents, so I couldn't catch the meaning in my ways. But I want to try more and improve my listening level.

4.I learned, " Sorry about that" "Where were we?". I learned these words are very useful if you interupped your conversation, and forgot what we were talking about. If you said,"Sorry about that, where were we?", most of people repeat the phrease.
I often forgot what talking about, so I want to use this phreases!

I know that the listening can be a little frustrating but keep on trying...it will become easier if you keep practicing.
